Cold-formed square hollow sections (SHS) are symmetrical, box-shaped steel tubes created by rolling and shaping flat steel sheets at room temperature before welding the edges together. This cold manufacturing process hardens the metal, which increases its overall strength and ability to carry heavy loads.
